The Birth Comb is a popular distraction technique during labour and can help you focus on your breathing as it presses on the acupressure points in your hand.
When you have a contraction, squeeze it in your hand to focus in on the sensation of the comb and then slowly release as the contraction eases. Using the comb is a fantastic way to practice mindfulness and stay calm whilst in labour.
The birth comb is portable, waterproof and can be used in conjunction with other pain relief methods. Custom designed for birth, it comes with detailed instructions and recommendations from the midwife who created it.
Using the birth comb on your LI4 point should only be done after 37 weeks as it may naturally induce labour.
I used the comb through the early stages and on the way to hospital. Whether it helped reduce pain I can’t say, but it gave me something else to focus on, and while contractions came fast in the car it was certainly helpful. I’d use it again.

Thank you so much for your service. I organised to hire the machine not knowing if I was going to get the VBAC labour/birth that I hoped for but I did!
I had planned to use a wide range of tools to get me through but I never took the TENS off. Still don’t know if I had it up to the full setting. Best value for money. Thanks again

Bliss birth are the best. Hiring their tens machine made a huge difference in the birth and I had the birth I wanted.
