After a long unpleasant medicated (induction) first birth, I really wanted to my best (where possible) to have a different experience the second time around.
I did my research on a Tens machine and gave ut a go. Bliss was super easy, quick postage, cute pouch to keep, all the equipment you need and easy return instructions (including reminders - much needed when you are underslept).
It was honestly a great experience (as much as birth can be). I got the tens on early in labour, once contractions were regular (at 10min intervals for me). I had it on the entire time including when I was pushing and then turned it off as soon as baby was born. It was my rock during the process and love how easy it was to check your contractions timing, increase intensity as needed and just gives you something to rely on during the process - lets you feel « in control » during an intense process.
Would 100% recommend to anyone wanting to try for an unmedicated birth or even in the early stages if you do end up getting an epidural. The best trick to make it work super well - get it on early to build up your pain endorphins
I wasn’t sure about hiring a TENS but read so many good reviews I thought I had nothing to loose! It was honestly a life saver. I can’t imagine getting through labour without it now. It was so easy for both myself and my husband to operate and compact enough that it never felt like it was in the way. Highly highly recommend. Thank you!
Worth every cent to have a non invasive pain relief that I could control on my own, while waiting hours for epidural

I used the TENS machine for the birth of my second child. I didn’t use one on my first but after listening to many other women’s birth stories I knew I needed in my kit. I can’t recommend this machine highly enough. I laboured at home with just the TENS machine until 5cm dilated. I continued to use until transition/pushing. It was easy to use and I actually was able to set jit up by myself when labour had already started (don’t be me, practice before labour!) it was intuitive and I got the hang of it quickly. I believe this little machine enabled me to have an unmedicated, intervention free vaginal birth. I recommend to all mums to be to add to your birth kit!

I can not fault the service of how fast the arrival was for our Tens machine. It was very helpful in labour and having the packaging ready to post it back made the whole process very easy!
My experience with Bliss Birth was great! I received my TENS machine quicker than expected, and it was super easy to return with the return label and packaging already included. In terms of using the TENS, the instructions provided were perfect for my husband and I to try before labour, and I used the TENS right up until hopping in the bath to birth my baby. Can’t recommend it enough!
This was a really handy tool in the kit to step up pain relief so I could manage to avoid an epidural for my second birth. I would definitely recommend to have on hand for the earlier stages of labour.
I found it good for early labour however my labour (second baby) progressed really quickly and i wish I had used it sooner. By the time I was 4-5cm I was needing something stronger (epidural) which in my case was the plan. Unfortunately in between asking for the epidural and getting it my midwife took it off me and I really wish she didn’t.

No seriously just do it! I hesitated if I actually needed or wanted a TENS for labor but TBH it was one of my favourite pain relief options for the big day. It gives you something to focus on and a little control in what is an uncontrollable situation
I thought I would not need this as I feel I can take the labor pain with ease. Just got this as advise by my midwife. Great decision as it helped me a lot during the first hours of labour and because of this I had a little bit of sleep through the pain. Thank you ♥️
I wanted to use one for my first birth but my little one came early so wasn’t prepared..got it nice and early for my second one and wowe so happy I did! The Tens machine was incredible during labour, and it came with everything ready to go in a bag with easy return and option to extend hire should I need.
When I went into hospital I dilated relatively quickly, my midwife popped the TENS on and it was honestly the best distraction.
I almost didn’t get a tens this time around, as didn’t really find it useful with my first pregnancy. But I was reminded that every pregnancy and labour is different… so it was a last minute just in case hire and the delivery turn around time gave me a peace of mind, it arrived within a couple of days and thank goodness! It was a lifesaver this time around, taking me all the way to the end and I birthed my baby without any drugs! 100% would recommend. Easy, no fuss hire that gave me a positive and empowering experience.

I just had my first baby and labour was a dream! With nothing but a birth comb and my TENS machine it really got me through! I didn’t even use the water as I thought I would because I didn’t want to part with the TENS! It truly became a part of me and I would have been lost without it!
